Sharjah has beautiful examples of traditional architecture, as well as vital, new contemporary projects. Both of these served as inspiration to propose an urban experience that is at once modern and forward looking, but also embodies the memory of the place and of its inhabitants. The Hayyan townhomes and villas are designed to attract families and people who desire to be part of a community. The design is inspired by the traditional architecture in Sharjah, particularly the use of coral stones, reinterpreted for today’s needs. 

The interiors and forms are designed with natural ventilation in mind to decrease energy consumption and produce comfortable indoor and outdoor experiences. Safe and secure smaller lanes open up to smaller courtyards, perfect for catching up with neighbors, watching children play. Public spaces for play have very low traffic and higher safety for children. The neighborhood is designed with an awareness of spatial qualities and forms at night in order to create a comfortable family environment in the hottest months of the year where inhabitants would come out in the evenings only.
